Elegantly modern villa close to top beaches

OVERVIEW 

Much of the beauty of this elegantly understated villa lies in its simplicity – while still being undeniably ‘luxury’. With its hints of North Africa-meets-modern Mediterranean vibe, the main house is a wonderfully open series of light-filled spaces and serene styling. Numerous windows and doors connect the inside with the expansive garden surrounds – a vast swathe of manicured lawn dotted with palm trees and sun-dappled seating areas, all centred on a lovely large pool.

And if you can tear yourself away from this scenic slice of rural Mallorca, its location puts it within easy striking distance of one of the island’s most renowned beaches – Es Trenc. Just a few miles away, this stretch of coastline is famed for its Caribbean-quality white powder sand and crystal-clear waters. 

The villa has also been designed to be accessible for guests with mobility issues, including the swimming pool. 

SETTING

The villa is set amongst the patchwork of fields and scenic farmland that make up the island’s traditionally rural Campos region. But it’s the proximity to the coast that guests love, with the seaside settlement of Ses Covetes just over five minutes’ drive away. From here you have access to two lovely stretches of protected dune-backed beach. 

A 20-minute drive and you also reach the genuinely stunning coves of Cala Llombards and Caló del Moro. If you’ve kids in tow, there’s an Ostrich farm just nearby the villa, too, where you can feed, pet and even ride the birds. You’re also just 10 minutes from the town of Campos, while Palma and the airport are half an hour away. 

SLEEPING

Two of the bedrooms are located on the ground floor, all with smart ensuite bathrooms and decorated in soothing tones with simple wooden furnishings. Each looks out to the garden or a small inner courtyard. 

Up on the first floor is the master bedroom, accessible via a central staircase or lift, and opening to a private terrace where you can gaze out over the surrounding countryside. 

RELAXING

Measuring 11×6 metres, the generously sized saltwater swimming pool provides plenty of space to swim or just splash around in. Sun loungers and a shaded pergola offer plentiful poolside seating. Nearer the house is an alfresco lounge, too, with comfy sofas that makes a perfect spot for sundowners. 

Inside on the lower ground floor is a small and secluded workout or yoga room, which can also double as a play room for the little ones. The area is great for cycling, and you can find a secure bike storage onsite too.  

EATING

The villa’s kitchen is dream to cook in, packed with top-of-the-range appliances which includes a gas stove and quality cookware. The kitchen also opens directly onto a indoor-outdoor cooking and eating area complete with a coal-fired barbecue grill and long dining table. 

If you’re looking to eat out, nearby Campos has a good collection of restaurants, including the excellent Ca’n Calent. For waterside dining, head to Colònia de Sant Jordi resort 10 minutes away, with its top pick of marina-side eateries.
