OVERVIEW 

Chic 21st-century minimalism set in exclusive Portals residential neighbourhood with views of the shimmering Mediterranean – this luxury villa ticks all the right boxes. You’ll feel a sense of seclusion and security as the electric gate closes behind you, and a feeling of excitement as you step inside and through to the upper floor living area. It’s a wonderfully open light-filled space where lounge and kitchen merge seamlessly, through floor-to-ceiling windows, with a broad pool terrace and expansive vistas towards the sea. 

Colourful contemporary artworks brighten crisp white walls, while polished marble floors and smart contemporary furnishings all add to this sophisticated-yet-liveable property. The result is a wonderful holiday villa and fabulous base from which you’re sure to enjoy Mallorca to the max.

SETTING

The villa is located high up in leafy Portals Hills, one of the island’s most coveted neighbourhoods thanks to its proximity to the swanky Port Portals marina. It’s about a five-minute walk downhill to Portals Nous, with its pleasant main road lined with cafes and local businesses, and another 10 to the bustling marina. There’s a fabulous sandy beach here, too, which you can access on foot in just 10 minutes direct. Another big bonus is that the capital Palma is a quick 15-minute drive away, and the airport only a little farther. 

SLEEPING

Sleeping up to ten guests, Villa Portals Hills has five bedrooms, all of which are located on the lower floor. Three are double bedrooms and two are set up with twin beds. Each has their own swish ensuite bathroom, all with walk-in showers and two also have separate soaking tubs. To aid a good night’s rest, all bedrooms also have blackout blinds and double-glazed windows. 

RELAXING

The infinity pool here is a lovely long strip of water, great for swimming laps or just cooling off while soaking up the views. There are comfy poolside lounger, too, to dry off on while still enjoying the vistas, as well as an inviting corner lounge. Together with a sitting area just inside, complete with satellite TV and Bluetooth sound system, you’ll find a snug second lounge downstairs, featuring fun underwater windows from the pool. Air con and underfloor heating throughout also makes the villa comfortable any time of the year. 

EATING 

There’s a compact but super-sleek kitchen complete with top-quality appliances and breakfast bar. A long poolside dining table seats up to eight and is great for alfresco dinners while the sun dips over the horizon. 

For eating out, you’re really spoilt for choice. Firstly, the Portals Hills Boutique hotel is just opposite, with a fabulously refined restaurant. Down in the marina are at least a dozen decent dining options, too, including Flanigan, famously frequently Spanish royalty.
